It began in 1989
when we first opened up our doors.

The Softer Side
We are Red Sun Academy.
Our style is Jo Kwon Chi.
is a blending of 3 styles:
Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, and Tai Chi.
We teach and train
not only in the physical aspects
of the martial arts, but as a way of life.
What makes us unique
is the heart we put in our school.
We also train in wonderful ways,
including excursions to the beach.
It is sad to see what is happening
to many martial art schools.
TKD is beautiful with its moves, science & forms
But we are in no way a commercial school.
We do not believe in contracts.
We do not have small children
running around with black belts.
We do not promote quickly or easily.
We have not turned what is beautiful
into strictly a money making business.
Here at Red Sun,
the art is of more important than money.
Incorporating Tai Chi in our training,
the concept of internal energy, balance,
and relaxation yielding to great power
is taught in our academy.
More yin is sprinkled in here.
Sensei is a 5th degree black belt
and was inducted into the
Black Belt Hall of Fame.
She has experience in over 7 styles and has published a book on the martial arts.
