STEPS TO LEARN

LESSON PLAN

TAI CHI RANKING

Separate from our regular Jo Kwon Chi classes,

Tai Chi is a more gentle approach to the martial arts.

It is geared for stress reduction.

The ancient art of Tai Chi claims many health benefits:

• Increases circulation

• Reduces stress

• Tones muscles

• Channels positive

      energy

Each Tai Chi class at Red Sun begins with a 5-minute talk so the student gains mental and spiritual knowledge.  We then do Tai Chi drills in preparation of learning Cheng Man-Ch'ing's Yang-style 37-posture short form, teaching each new student a few more moves with each class.  We do form work at the beginning of our class.

After the form, we work on push hands.  And we end each class with the Tai Chi sword (teacher's favorite!).

    SWORD PLAY:

With sword play, beginners learn simple sword strikes and blocks.
Intermediate students practice sword drills with a partner.

More advanced students learn the two-person choreographed sword-fight scene.

CLASS TIMES:

Class meets once a week,
every
Sunday evening.
What a wonderful (and relaxing) way
to end the week!

TAI CHI CLASS: 7:30-8:30
BEGINNERS: 7pm-8pm
ADVANCED: 7:30-9pm

COST:

The cost is $35/month
for Red Sun members & nonmembers.

New students must pay for
two months in advance,
plus a $25 initiation fee.
After that, it's just $35 per month.
We have no contracts.

$10/class Option:

Students can opt to pay
$10 per class
(AFTER being a tai chi student
with us for 3 months or more),
for up to 5 classes per year.
This is to help during vacation time,
sickness, or when company visits.
To discourage poor attendance
or disrupted training,
students can pay $10 per class
for only 5 times per year.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to my past teachers Blackwell, Frank Wong, and currently Jim Cross, for showing me the way.

Don't feel that you're
too old or out of shape.

The moves are similar to
swimming in air.

No brute force is used.
